WAO Nature & Conservation supports professional fishermen in their sustainable fishing approach by :

• Defining with them the specifications for sustainable fishing, which depend on the fishing practices and techniques concerned

• Building a network of committed stakeholders (working groups, associations, meetings, etc.) on a French and international scale

• Involving fishermen in environmental research, awareness-raising or CSR programs (development and testing of equipment to limit by-catches, population monitoring, fishing for litter, CoCréAction program, bio-indicators, etc.)

• Promoting sustainable practices, fishermen's knowledge and environmental commitment
